Choosing cheap health insurance is not something bad, but people have to understand they must go about it the right way. They have to choose carefully and check into all their options. The price should not be the only determining factor.

By searching only for a cheap company a person is putting a lot at risk. They may end up with a company that will take their money but not offer much in return. If the company is not stable then claims may go unpaid and the bills will end up being the responsibility of the person, not the company.

Health insurance needs are very important. Buying health insurance simply because it is cheap could leave a person out in the cold when it comes to important health care coverage. It is essential that a person works with a company that has a solid and strong reputation. Understanding The Infections Candida Causes

Candida is a fungal infection, which has become more common than ever. There are a number of reasons for this increase in recent times. Firstly, people are living for longer and generally speaking older people’s immune systems weaken over time and this increases the risk of the contracting some of the infections candida causes.

Also, through the increased use of antibiotics, which are beneficial in treating many illnesses and conditions, there has been an increase in the amount of cases of candida being diagnosed. Candida symptoms are known to increase after a person has under gone a course of antibiotic treatment.

As a side effect of taking antibiotics, candida is often an unexpected complication. Antibiotics usually kill off both the good and the bad bacteria in the body. So, the good bacterium, which would normally suppress the fungi, which causes candida, is no longer present to protect our bodies.

The main type of candidiasis is Candida Albicans, which can cause oral thrush, vulvovaginal candidiasis, balantis and intertrigo, are four of the more common forms of infections candida causes.

- Oral thrush – the main cause of this particular form of candida, which normally can co-exist in harmony in the mouth, is due to a sudden change in the chemistry of a person’s oral cavity. Unfortunately if this change does occur then the candida in the hosts mouth can take precedence over the other micro-organisms that are present. This imbalance allows candida yeast to thrive and grow.

- Vulvovaginal candidiasis is caused by an overgrowth of candia which lives on the skin around the vaginal opening. Normally, the candia yeast lives in balance and is harmless, however, again, if a person’s immune system become comprised, or they have just recently taken a course of antibiotics it may allow the conditions to become favourable for candida overgrowth. An overgrowth of candida can then cause the infection to invade the vagina, which is when the symptoms of a candida infection will normally be noticed.

Although usually the main complication of any form of candida infection is the unpleasantness of the infection symptoms, there are other much more serious complications that can arise if it is not treated effectively.

If the infection passes in to the bloodstream then you may find that it can affect the kidneys, heart, lungs, eyes and other major organs of the body. This in turn can cause high fevers, chills, anaemia and in some cases a rash or a person may even go into shock.

Could Your Candida Be Celiac Disease?

Everyone has candida. It’s a bacteria that lives naturally in all human bodies, mostly in the small intestine and the mucous membranes. It doesn’t do anything harmful, and our bodies don’t notice it. When it is allowed to flourish, though, it becomes problematic. The condition of system-wide candida symptoms is called candida dysbiosis.

The symptoms of candida dysbiosis are fatigue, headaches, weakness, the feeling of being “hungover,” diarrhea, nausea, and memory loss, among others. Yet it’s vital to note that another condition — celiac disease — has many of the same indications. Could your candida actually be celiac disease instead?

First, let’s consider the causes. Celiac disease is an autoimmune disorder of the small bowel that is caused by an abnormal reaction to gluten, a protein found in wheat, and similar proteins found in barley and rye. Candida can be caused by taking antibiotics or hormones, or by alcohol, stress, or a poor diet. Candida and celiac disease have entirely different causes, in other words, even though some of their symptoms are the same.

Celiac disease and candida often share these symptoms: chronic fatigue, weakness, headaches, general flu-like achiness, joint pains, chronic sinus problems, allergies, irritability, abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhea, and gas.

On the other hand, these symptoms are common in candida but NOT in celiac disease: dizziness, cold sweats, sore throat, low-grade fever, chronic athlete’s foot, heart pains. If your symptoms include any of those, celiac disease is probably not what’s ailing you.

If you suspect you have celiac disease, it’s imperative that you get diagnosed properly as soon as possible. The condition is often misdiagnosed. Many of its symptoms suggest not just candida but irritable bowel syndrome and several other ailments. To accurately diagnose celiac disease, a blood test is needed. Other tests, such as an endoscopy, may also be necessary.

It’s important that if you think you have celiac disease, you don’t stop eating gluten products on your own before getting tested. Doing so may decrease the symptoms, but it will also make it harder to detect the disease when you do get tested. Instead, continue on with your regular diet until your doctor confirms you have celiac disease.

Once the diagnosis has been made, you’ll have to make some changes. There is no “cure” for celiac disease; the only way to deal with it is to stop eating foods with gluten in them, and to continue on that diet for the rest of your life. Fortunately, many food manufacturers are making gluten-free versions of their products, and some health insurance providers even reimburse patients for the cost of these special foods.

After undertaking a gluten-free diet, your intestines will be able to heal themselves. In the vast majority of cases, all the celiac-related symptoms go away. Occasionally, a celiac patient will find that even with a gluten-free diet, the symptoms remain, sometimes because the disease persisted for so long that the damage to the intestines was irreparable. In these rare cases, steroids may be used to combat the symptoms.

Are You Getting Enough Calcium From Your Anti Candida Diet?

It’s true that oral contraceptives increase the risk of Candida overgrowth, but so can your diet. For instance, foods that primarily feed Candida albicans include foods high in starch and sugar. That being said, other foods, including dairy products (with the exception of butter and eggs) also encourage Candida overgrowth. For this reason, many people try to keep their Candida in check by controlling their diet by following an anti candida diet.

Unfortunately, due to the fact that dairy products encourage Candida growth, particularly in those who have an allergy to milk, most dairy products (milk, cheese, ice cream, cream, buttermilk etc.) are often eliminated from the diet. This fact has those on a Candida diet wondering how they can give their body the necessary calcium it needs, without stimulating the growth of Candida albicans.

How can you get the calcium you need without the help of diary?

If you are concerned about calcium, you will be pleased to know that there are many other food sources that contain calcium such as:

- Dark leafy green vegetables (bok choy, kale, cabbage)
- Raw broccoli
- Seaweed
- Dried fruit
- Almonds
- Sesame seeds

- Canned salmon

It’s also a good idea to visit a nutritionist or dietician if you plan on using non-dairy foods for sources of calcium.

In addition, in order to help your body maintain healthy calcium levels you should limit or eliminate your intake of caffeine and alcohol. These products deplete calcium levels. Furthermore, make sure you exercise regularly. Lack of exercise is another way to reduce calcium levels.

If you are having a difficult time ingesting foods rich in calcium, or are worried you are not meeting the daily requirements your body needs, you should talk to your doctor about taking calcium supplements.

It is highly recommended that you consult your doctor first before you begin taking calcium supplements. The reason is because it is not possible to accurately determine the correct amount of calcium your body requires without knowing your body chemistry first. There are many different calcium supplements on the market, and there is a high possibility that you can pick one which will make your pH worse rather than improving it.

You see, the vast majority of the less expensive calcium supplements have calcium carbonate listed as their main ingredient. Calcium carbonate is usually created from oyster shells or ground limestone. Calcium from oyster shells is the least effective supplement. Ground limestone, on the other hand, is a better calcium supplement than oyster shells (depending on how fine it’s grinded), but it still doesn’t compare to the better forms.

The best calcium supplement forms include:

- Pure calcium gluconate
- Calcium citrate

In addition, avoid purchasing calcium supplements that list magnesium in their ingredients. The reason is because the body’s Magnesium requirements should be attended to separately from calcium. Doctors, at the onset of candida infection, often prescribe anti-Fungal medicines, such as Miconazole or Clotrimazole. Dependent upon the yeast infection, these medications can either be applied topically, or as an oral gel.

There are also some anti-fungal treatments that can be purchased over the counter from your local drugstore. Just explain the symptoms to the pharmacist, or look at the labels for guidance.

However, before diagnosing your own candida treatment, it is important that you seek the advice of a specialist first, or at least advise them what you are taking to counteract the yeast infection.

Normally the Candida treatments prescribed by your doctor will take between 3 and 7 days before you will see any results. Such medications need to be taken orally or can be applied directly to the affected area. There are also specific medications designed to treat infections of the vagina which, which usually come in suppository form.

However, although these types of Candida treatments are usually able to cure the infection, with a success rate of between 80 and 90%, there are some candida infections which are now immune to such treatments.

Are Essential Oils Effective Candida Treatment?

Although candida treatment for men is typically the same as it is for women, it’s imperative that candida sufferers know there are other remedies for infections aside from topical creams. For instance, there are essential oils that can be used to effectively treat different forms of candida infections.

Essential oil is created from natural substances (typically plants and flowers). Essential oils have been used for centuries for perfume, aromatherapy, and for their healing properties. Essential oils are available at local health and nutrition stores; however, you will find that there are many to choose from, and not all are considered effective for treating candida.

The following are the essential oils used as effective candida treatment -

Tea Tree Oil – This essential oil is comprised of antiviral, antibiotic and antifungal properties. It is primarily for external use, and is applied as a topical ointment for small wounds. Eucalyptus – This essential oil provides excellent support to the immune system, and can kill most staphylococcus bacteria, which is a bacterium that can combine with candida to create infections such as eczema. Eucaplytus provides the body with a cooling effect. It can be used topically to treat candida infections and is sometimes used in small amounts for oral supplements.

Eucalyptus is considered a safe external treatment. However, it can be extremely toxic if ingested. This is why only a small amount of eucalyptus is found in supplements. You should never ingest eucalyptus without first seeking the advice of a health care provider.

Rose Geranium oil- This oil has an antibacterial effect that has proven to be exceptionally effective as a candida treatment because of its ester content. It is an exceptional skin care product that promotes hygiene, and can be used topically as an antiseptic for fungal infections such as athlete’s foot. What makes rose geranium oil so unique is geranium can eliminate yeast without affecting natural bacterial flora. When ingested, geranium also helps stimulate liver and pancreas function, and can also sooth symptoms of breast pain in women during menses when applied topically.

This essential oil is considered safe to use and may only cause minor side effects such as skin irritation for those with sensitive skin. However, geranium oil is not recommended for pregnant women as it is known to balance the hormonal system.

Oregano Oil – This oil is recognized for its aggressive antifungal properties and can effectively take care of stubborn candida fungal infections such as athlete’s foot, nail fungus and fungal infections of the scalp. Oregano oil can be used both internally and externally as a candida treatment.

Oregano oil also as anti-inflammatory properties and can effectively relieve pain when applied topically, as it penetrates deep into damaged skin to provide relief. This oil is considered safe and side effects are extremely rare. Oreagano oil can cause a skin irritation or rash when applied topically in those who are allergic or have sensitive skin.

Two other essential oils that are recognized for their antifungal properties and may be effective at treating candida include patchouli and myrrh.

Before taking essential oils to treat candida infections, you should consult your health care provider to make sure the oils you are considering are safe for you to take. This is especially true if you are pregnant or have any current or pre-existing health problems. In addition, you should follow all directions on products, and speak to a professional herbalist to find out what the best methods for applying and ingesting these oils are for candida treatment.

What Do Anti Candida Diets Entail?

It is thought that candida (a form of yeast fungus) exists in everyone, mostly living quite happily in the warm and moist parts of the body. Avoid processed foods, and if this is not possible, then read the label carefully and be on the look out for any of the above ingredients.

Although this list may look long at first glance, there are still a huge list of foods that are available to include in your diet, including:

The majority of vegetables
All fresh meats
Brown rice and wheat
Most pulses, lentils, peas and beans
Oats
Cold pressed oils
Herbs and spices

It is believed that everyone has some candida on or in them at all times, but an overgrowth cannot happen unless the immune system is functioning poorly, or the gut flora is not in balance.

Candida needs to eat to continue to thrive, and if you starve it of its nourishment, and eat foods that strengthen the immune system and improve the levels of friendly bacteria, then it is clear that this will have a beneficial effect on combating the candida overgrowth.

Candida Albacans is a type of yeast fungus which, it is thought is present in everyone, or at least a large percentage of the population. It tends to live in either the mouth, the vaginal area, digestive tract or in the folds of our skin.
